Obituary

Beloved husband and father. Shael was born in Winnipeg, Canada, on January 16, 1938, and passed away at the age of 88 on June 17, 2026, in Phoenix, AZ.

He was married to Abigail Harris for 61 years before she passed away in 2023. Shael had a long career in radiology, first as an x-ray technician and then as a pioneer in the field of sonography.

He is survived by his sons Darren and Robert.

So glad I got to work with Chuck early in my pediatric radiology career. He and Alice were the best sonographers I have ever worked with in over 30 years. I will always remember his dedication to his craft and his great sense of humor. We had great times. So glad I got to see him one last time in 2024. He will be missed.

I had the pleasure to know and work with Shael for many many years. He was a dedicated Sonographer who helped Advance the field early and its creation. Shael and Abby were also close friends even though I did not see them very often in the last 20 years. They will both be missed.
