About Anita Faye Wells
Anita Faye Wells, 84, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on October 22, 2026, in Gilbert, Arizona.
Born on March 25, 1942, in Oregon, Anita had a lifelong love of travel and adventure. She especially cherished her 16 years as a Navy wife, a chapter of her life that gave her the opportunity to live abroad, experience different cultures, and see the world. Those years held a special place in her heart and provided memories she treasured throughout her life.
Following her years as a Navy wife, Anita settled in Toledo, Ohio, before making Findlay, Ohio, her home for nearly 50 years. She recently relocated to Gilbert, Arizona.
Throughout her life, Anita had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever she went. Whether traveling abroad, settling into a new community, or working alongside colleagues, she had a way of making people feel welcomed and cared for. During her career, she worked as a teacher’s aide, financial secretary, and administrative assistant at Marathon Oil and Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was often affectionately known as the “office mom,” someone others could turn to for advice, encouragement, or simply a listening ear.
Generous to a fault, Anita had a big heart and a feisty spirit. She was never afraid to speak her mind, and those who knew her understood that her strong personality was matched by an equally strong capacity to love. She valued her family and friendships deeply, leaving behind countless memories, lasting relationships, and a little bit of that feistiness in those who loved her most.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Fern; her brothers, Jimmy, Dean, and Romonia; her beloved husband, Gene; and her grandson, David.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Gene (Julie), Tina, Mike (Beth), and Sheri (Coley).
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Matthew, Steven, Tyler, Amanda, Christian, Aaron, Austin, Trace, Stephen (Kaylee), Brennen (Ajay), and Justin; her great-grandchildren, Lydia, Jeremiah, Lila Grace, and Carson; and her great-great-grandchildren, August, Sapphire, and Kingston.
Anita also leaves behind her beloved Pomeranian, Bailey Sue, who held a special place in her heart.
A celebration of Anita’s life will be held in Findlay, Ohio, at a future date, where family and friends will gather to share memories, celebrate her life, and honor the love and laughter she brought into their lives.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, an organization Anita faithfully supported through her regular blood donations.
Anita will be remembered for her generous heart, her adventurous spirit, her unwavering love for family and friends, and the unmistakable spark that made her uniquely Anita.
